Landing Gear Testing
ATS currently has the capability to drop test any aircraft landing gear up to an aircraft gross weight of 20,000 lbs. Several drop weight carriages are available to accommodate a variety of landing gear including main, nose and tail gears.
The test rig is computer controlled and instrumented to acquire data at a rate of 2000Hz. The test rig is also equipped to spin a tire to a pre-selected RPM just prior to dropping the carriage to account for spring back loads on the gear when necessary. Below are a couple of examples of landing gear we have previously tested.
